    Summer Vacation 2006 Day 3

On Day 3 we did 3 big things. We went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, the Sea Lion Caves, and the Heceta Head Lighthouse.
The aquarium was some what interesting, but not as interesting as I had hoped it would be. There were lots of cool things to see, but I wished for more. The Sea Lion Caves were very very cool, but LadyDragonfly didn't get to take very many pictures of me there because it was very windy and she was afraid I would fly off the cliff, and inside the cave it was somewhat dark and dank and we couldn't use a flash, and my pictures just came out as dark blobs. I do recommend seeing it though, and hopefully, I'll take better pictures when I go again. The Heceta Head Lighthouse is apparently the world's most photographed lighthouse and I believe it. It is incredibly beautiful. I got one picture of me on the railing of the stairs going up to the top, but not much else, our tour was very crowded and there isn't much room up there. LadyDragonfly and Rick took a bunch of photos that she's going to post on her page. Our plans for day 4 include going to Tillamook and seeing the Air Museum and the Cheese Factory. Hopefully, we have a good time.
    More soon!

It's not haunted as far as I know. We didn't see any ghosts, but there was definitely a feeling of history that was overwhelming. You can see some what in the background a grey concrete part of the wall. When the lighthouse was manned by humans, there were very beautiful stained glass windows. However, when the lighthouse became automated, they had to brick up the windows because of vandals. I'd love to have seen those windows, and what the light was like when it was run by oil and sweat. However, it's still very impressive.
