Me and the Dog on my back

It's been awhile since I posted. I've been busy with Molokai, and LadyDragonfly has been working too much and hogging the computer.

I was trying to sleep in this morning.

When suddenly I feel something heavy land on my chest and something wet on my face.

Apparently Molo decided I'd slept enough and it was time to go outside. I called to LadyDragonfly and told her that Molo needed to go out.

She called to me from the other room, that it was my dog and my responsibility and anyway she'd had to get up early with Lobo already.

Molo was in a hurry and hardly let me get dressed in my robe and slippers before he was dragging me down the stairs.

We fortunately made it outside in time, which is a good thing because I can't imagine what the clean up would have been like and what LadyDragonfly would have said.

Molo and I are going to go camping for the holiday weekend. I'll post some pictures of that as soon as we get back. I'll make sure LadyDragonfly lets me use the computer even if I have to take a page from my favorite girl bunny Lady Kumo's book. All I can say is it's a good thing Gage doesn't taste good.

    Little dog lost and found

Yesterday, since it was such a nice day, I decided to walk to my Tai Chi class.
There is a park on my way and I cut through it thinking it would be a shortcut.
While I was walking a dog came running up to me. He didn't have a collar or any tags. However, he was really friendly and a little rambunctious. I called LadyDragonfly and she took me to her veterinarian so we could check for a microchip.
Dr. Claus found one so we called the owners. They said the dog's name was Molokai and that they were tired of him running away and wanted to know if Dr. Claus would put him down! After some discussion with LadyDragonfly and myself, we asked Dr. Claus if he could get the owners to sign Molokai over to me. The owners agreed and came to the office to release ownership. We changed the microchip information to be my information and now I am the proud owner of a lovely dog. We've been busy bonding, and I will post more about it soon.

    It's Hot Hot Hot

It's so hot. Sadly, not as hot as it has been, but I'm hot none the less.
It's too hot to do anything more, so I'm done posting for a bit. I have some letters that Marigold and Peppermint forwarded on to me that I need to answer. I hope I'll have some time this week. I also plan to spend some time in the park and by the water to cool off. Look for updates soon.

    Massage and Me

My friend Gage is learning to be a massage therapist. I think that's great, but I don't think it would be for me. However, I do like a good massage. LadyDragonfly's massage therapist Pam has agreed to give me massages too!
I'll have LadyDragonfly take some pictures when that happens. For now, here's a picture of me and Pam at LD's last appointment.
    Fun times ahead!

    Summer Vacation 2006 Day 5

On our last full day of vacation we went back to Newport and went to the OSU Hatfield Marine Science Center.
Interestingly enough, it was much more entertaining than the actual aquarium. We got to see lots of neat things like a octopus in the lobby and the hands on exhibit where you can touch aneome and other sea life.
I met a nice intern named Alyssa who let me take a picture with her and LadyDragonfly's cousin Tyler.
We had a good time also doing some shopping in Depoe Bay. I tasted some nice wine there and will enter the picture as soon as I can (it's on LadyDragonfly's Mom's camera).

Friday we made our way home, LadyDragonfly's family stopped at the Evergreen Air Museum to see the Spruce Goose but we didn't stop with them, so I have no pictures of that.

    Summer Vacation 2006 Day 4

This day of our vacation was rainy and rather cold. It turned out to be a good day to go to Tillamook and see what we could see.

Our first stop was the Tillamook Air Museum. Wow, that was a fun time. There was an amazing amount of planes and the history of the building itself was just fantastic. LadyDragonfly, her dad and I could have stayed a lot longer, but everyone was hungry and the whole point of our visit to this mecca of nowhereness was the Tillamook Cheese Factory.

We'd gotten it from a supposedly reliable source
that we would enjoy the cheese factory tour. We had heard that it was interesting, and they gave free samples and you could buy cheap ice cream.

Well, the later two options were true and the cheese and the ice cream are definitely worth having. However, there is absolutely no reason to go there. The cafe was overpriced and not very good. If you're in this area you can buy the ice cream at the grocery, and I think you can find the cheese pretty much anywhere.
Skip the cheese factory but go to the air museum.
